The move itself went pretty well, we used ABF U-Pack and they take care of everything very nicely.  The picked up our stuff on time, they delivered on time, and the driver that picked up in Newport even helped us load for two and a half hours.  They went above and beyond, and that is absolutely amazing.  Anyone planning a move of any distance should definitely check them out.

I think I will cut this blog entry short, The Nanny is on and I have not watched that show in a long time.  Bye bye for now!

So I think that it is pretty sad our local radio station that boasts ‘Today’s hottest music!’ and ‘The most hits every hour!’ seem to satisfy those claims in the following manner:

I find that ‘Today’s hottest music!’ translates to the five most popular songs among teenyboppers and teenagers at the current moment at least one every hour and a half. It is pretty sad that today alone I have heard the new Taylor Swift song at least six times since 8a. I know I have heard it at least six times because at that point I find myself remembering lyrics to songs, and I just shocked myself with how much I have memorized when it played yet again. And isn’t Taylor Swift country? Why is she playing on a rock/pop (even tho calling this stuff rock is a HUUUUGE stretch…) station?

‘The most hits every hour!’ seems to be accomplished by mixing in with those five songs loved so dearly by teenyboppers and teenagers number ones that date back all the way to the early 90s. Along with the news that rocks their little worlds. If I hear OMG JUSTIN BIEBER CUT HIS HAIR!! one more time I swear I am going to scream. This DJ is a grown man, and should not be getting that excited about this kid’s haircut.

And does this noise created by Ke$ha really count as music? I wonder if getting drunk would help it sound better. She sounds kinda drunk, so it might make sense when you are in that special state of awareness.

One would assume from their advertising they play the newest, hippest, hottest tunes. In reality, it’s just the same sad stuff they have played for the past few years with a few new bits mixed in to make it ‘fresh’.

Warmer weather means more outdoor activities, which is exciting. I love to get out and do things. I plan to pick up running again, and now that the evenings are getting longer I can possibly go after work until it starts getting hot. Then I guess it’s dragging myself out of bed again at 6am. I used to do it, and I am sure I will be able to do it again. I remember how much better I felt when I ran, how well I slept, and how much energy I had. Plus, losing some pounds isn’t a bad thing at all!

At least it is Friday, and I am hoping for a slow and fun weekend. I know that is a contradiction since time always flies when you are having fun, but I don’t care. I want it all.

And WTF is with the Neveah trend?? Our society is screwed.

Work is still going pretty well. Monday mornings are growing more and more difficult, I miss the weekends so badly. Two days of being free from the time clock and being able to choose if I want to get up early or sleep in (sleeping in typically wins) are too few and too short. They need to shorten the work week to four days a week. Hey, I would happily work 10 hour days again if I could get four days a week! When I first started here the schedule was 6a-4:30p Mon. thru Thurs. with three day weekends. I miss those good ol’ days. That extra day on the weekend means a lot, you can get all the housework caught up for the week and still be able to relax, not forced to pick one or the other. Plus, I do believe workplace morale was much higher in those times. I know our paychecks were, especially if we worked that extra shift on Friday and got OT. Those days are sadly long gone, along with several other benefits we used to get. C’est la vie, I suppose.

The doggies were so adorably cute this morning, they did not want their mommy to get out of bed for work. The snuggled closer and closer each time I hit the snooze button, which made it harder and harder for me to get up. They were awake when I left, and looked so saddened that I had to go. I suggested they cuddle with their daddy (he was still snoozing away peacefully), and I assume that once I left they took me up on the offer and took their spots beside of him. I like it when they decide to wake him up. It’s hilarious to see both chihuahuas crawling and climbing all over Barry to get his attention.

I want to ask for prayers, happy thoughts, good vibes, or whatever else it is you do for two people in my life. A gentleman I used to work with named Floyd lost his job and is homeless. Poor guy is dealing with a lot of stress, and says that he has been having chest pains. Also, the mother of Julie my yoga instructor had a car accicdent last week. She survived (luckily) but blew out her knee in the collision. She has a long road of rehab before they can replace her knee, then more rehab after the surgery.

We watched the movie Up last night. It was a good little movie, and I don’t want to post much so that I don’t ruin it for those that have never seen it, but it had me crying within the first 5-10 minutes. It definately touches your heart, and if you have not seen it I highly recommend it. The dogs in it are adorable, especially Doug.

Looking at the calendar, it’s hard to believe that today is the 27th of January. OMG where has the time gone? It feels like just last week Barry and I were roaming in Times Square on the day before New Years Eve and now January is almost gone. They say time goes faster as you age. Boy am I screwed!!

On the FFXI front, I am working on a DKP system to keep track of our Dynamis run points and attendance, I just need the last piece of the puzzle (the past 6 or 8 weeks attendance list from the guy that keeps up with it) to get it done. I have my fingers crossed that it works out, I’d love to be able to do something to make it a bit easier. I guess that is all for now, I’ll post more when I think of it. See ya!

Barry was wonderful!  He washed the dishes that were left in the sink, he made the bed, and did a few other things to make sure the house was all prettied up.  When I got there with Mom and the carpet cleaner he came out to help as usual.  When we got inside Scotty did his usual hide and bark until Mom brought out some doggie treats and lured him out.  She had met Dixie once before, but then again Dixie loves everyone as long as they will pet her. 

We all chatted for a while, and then Barry and I started making dinner.  We made chicken fettucine alfredo with pigs in a blanket on the side.  Dinner was yummy, and when we got done eating Dad dropped by for a few and then took Mom home.  I sent a plate of food home with Dad since he missed dinner, I hope they both enjoyed my cooking.  Barry and I did, as did the little ones, so that is what matters most to me.  It’s the second time Mom has been over since everything got pretty much settled in back in late April ’10.  The last time Mom and Dad were there together I think the furniture was still being delivered.

Dad aggravated Scotty and petted Dixie, talked a little about the game, then took Mom and his plate of food home.

After Mom and Dad left, Barry and I settled in to watch some TV and relax.  We watched the last couple episodes of The Next Great Baker, then some American Dad and I fell asleep during Family Guy.  We think the visit went well, I hope Mom and Dad feel the same.  I guess time will tell.

Yes, yes, and yes.  I seriously think that the winter blahs are what has me down.  All I want to do is curl up and sleep.  I want to hibernate until spring and not worry about anything that happens between now and then.  Two months minimum of being passed out in our nice warm and comfy bed should do it, and when the warm sun peeps out I will be more than happy to get vertically aligned and start moving around again.

Yesterday was ‘one of those days’ and today isn’t starting out much better.  Yesterday I was plagued with a pain in my neck and shoulder, and then at work I cut my hand while packing samples to ship out to a customer.  It’s not a deep cut, but I did it with a razor knife (with a brand new blade) and it’s probably 3/4″ long on the heel of my hand.

When I got home I napped on the sofa for a while, although that was not my intent.  I had a massive headache that stayed with me until after I went to bed for the night.  We played a little FFXI since we had our normal Wednesday night Dynamis and after the event we cuddled on the sofa to watch T.V.  While Barry was flipping thru the onscreen listing I spotted Hot in Cleveland on TV Land, and I had been wanting to see it for quite a while.  Hot in Cleveland is a great show, Betty White is SUPER FUNNY in it, and the new sitcom that came on after it called Retired at 35 is pretty good, too!

This morning didn’t start out too great, the school traffic is the bane of my morning commute and all of them apparantly went stupid this morning.  I posted a couple angry rants on facebook, but to sum it up I like to say I didn’t know that drivers licenses still came in Cracker Jack boxes.  Bring on more snow so that school can be out another week or so and I can have a stress free drive!!!!!

On the FFXI aspect of things, when I got home Friday I had a suprize waiting for me.  I logged in to find my charachter topless, and when I checked gear I found something really cool: my honey and some friends had been out camping Fafnir and Adamantoise, and I had my very own DALMATICA!!!!!  I had worked for it and cussed over it for quite a while now, and since Einherjar was becoming a dying event I had my worries that I would never see one.  Thank you to everone that helped camp and make it possible, I wear it with pride and I owe each and every one of you majorly. 

Our Dynamis runs are hilarious now with Duelist’s Chapeau falling like rain.  One went yesterday to the secdondary AF tier.  We never thought that would EVAR happen!!!  Now let’s see those thief hands falling like water, eh?

Saturday was a lazy day, and yesterday was almost as bad.  We slept in as long as possible both days, and I got out of my PJs Saturday only to go walk my friend’s dogs for her because she was very ill with a virus.  I needed a lazy weekend, and now I need to get my rear in gear and get some things done around the house.  I still need to take down our little Christmas tree. 

Last night I composed a thank you letter to the animal shelter where we adopted Scotty.  I will post it up here later, it sweems I cannot copy and paste directly from Word and get the blog posting to include the photographs.  It’s a very sweet letter from him thanking them for helping him find his forever home and sharing some pictures from the past few months.

I think that just about covers all of the high points.  As you can tell, it was a weekend filled with video games for us.  It felt great just to let go of the real world for a few hours and just play.  Netflix delivered disc 1 of The Sopranos season 2 and The Three Musketeers as well, so we have movie night coming up as well.

Let’s see, what happened yesterday afternoon…  When I got off work I had to run an errand or two, and when I came home I relaxed for a little bit with my honey and our puppies.  Then we piddled around on the computers for a while, had our Wednesday Dynamis run in FFXI, and ate dinner.  I had to make dinner twice because the first dish was too spicy for him, but neither of them took very long to whip up so it was no bother.  At least I had plenty of leftovers to bring to work for lunch today and he should have two, maybe three portions to eat.  If I’m lucky, he’ll eat one for lunch and we can split the rest for dinner.  Free dinner day for me!  *crosses fingers*  LOL.

We watched The Ugly Truth last night.  A friend at work told me about it, and it was a really good movie.  I got the emails that Netflix has received our two DVDs that I put in the mail Tuesday, so tomorrow we should be getting the first disc of The Sopranos Season 2 and a movie which I do not remember at this current point in time.  We have a lengthy queue, so it’s almost like Christmas when we get a disc.  It’s fun to try and remember when it was added and how we found out about the film. 

I think that just about covers another day in the life of me.  Exciting, huh?  I guess it’s time to publish this up and get to work so that I can get the day over with and make it back home.  Take care everyone!!
