Americans, We Are in Trouble!

The population of the US is 300 million.

160 million are retired.

That leaves 140 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school.

Which leaves 55 million to do the work.

Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government.

Leaving 15 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama Bin-Laden.

Which leaves 12.2 million to do the work.

Take from that total the 10.8 million people who work for state and city Governments. And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.

Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work..

You and me.

And there you are,

Sitting on your behind,

At your computer, reading jokes.

LOL!

FFXI White Mage Adjustments

I stumbled across a great bit of information today, in the upcoming version update White Mages will get some fine-tuning done to the job, which totally rocks!  The complete info is here, but what makes me the happiest at my level right now (besides Afflatus Solace and Afflatus Misery) is they nerfed reraise from level 33 to level 25, which means I can to RDM/WHM to 50 cap events and have reraise!  Hurrah!!

The whole shebang is pretty exciting, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store.  I have my fingers crossed for some Red Mage goodness!!

iPhone, Please Hold.

I ran across a rumor today that will halt my iPhone acquistion for a few more months: Apple is release a new version this summer.  Last week Apple held a special even where the iPhone 2.1 was hinted at.  The new toy will be faster, slicker, and sexier than ever.  Included in the list of improvements (if you can in fact improve something that is already chock full of awesome) are:

-Faster internet access
-Major OS changes
-A new look
-Faster chipset
-TV integration for ATT customers
-Better games
-Built-in videocam

I was excited about getting the iPhone 3g, but now I’m ready to jump up and down over this new baby.  The new iPhone is expected to be announced officially in June and ship in July.  The idea circulating is that Steve Jobs will announce his new Apple love child onthe day he comes back to work, June 8.

Time will tell for sure.

iPhone

So, the countdown has begun.  My contract is up for renewal an April 28th, and I am going to score myself a shiny new iPhone as my next geek toy.  I love my little LG TRAX phone, and it is still a great little piece of equipment but I’m ready for a new toy.  The phone I have now was meant to be a MP3 phone, but I use my iPod for all that, and that tradition will probably continue.  The apps that are available on the iPhone are what really have me excited, you can get one to do almost anything!

I wanted the LG Vu, but when the iPhone 3G came out and the price fell down it went on my “gotta have it” list.  However, I get to play with the Vu and see if I would have liked it soonly, because my mom is getting her phone changed to it since her little pink Sony Ericson is messing up.  So, I get the best of both worlds!

Time to get to work, hope you enjoyed my little tech rant.  After all, it is the simple things that entertain some of us.  XD

Edging Up on a Landmark

It’s only four days until I turn a whole quarter of a century old! I’m staring 25 in the face and I’m excited about it.

I still feel good because I get carded when I buy movies and video games (apparently I still look like I’m in my late teens). That always brings a smile to my face, but sometimes it gets irritating.

I’m also excited that I get to renew my driver’s license. Everyone hates their dl pic, but I kinda like mine. I’m planning on getting mine renewed Friday, and I’m excited about having a new haircut to go with my new photo.

I don’t think I’ll be one of those gals that stay 25 for several years, but as I get closer to 30 we will see how that changes.

Well, sorry for the short quip but time to get back to work. Take care!

Twilight on DVD

So I bought Twilight on DVD Saturday (what is the deal with some of the new DVDs being released on Saturdays anyway?) and then took it home to watch it with the family. I had seen it in theaters, but mom and dad had not. Dad, in typical guy fashion, didn’t really care for it much but my mom liked it pretty well. I think I have her interested in the series, because she asked me several times about the books and what all happens. I guess we will see if she reads them or just watches the rest of the films.

I got the 2 disc special edition, but didn’t get to enjoy any of the extra features yet. By the time the movie went off I was ready to crash and get some sleep.

Final thoughts: I liked it in theaters, and liked it even better the 2nd time around. I can’t wait for the next movie in November. That is, if the date doesn’t get bumped… I guess I’ll have to start keeping an eye on that, because it will be November before we know it.

And Harry Potter comes out then as well, if I recall.

Whew!

The Boyahda Tree Goodness

So Saturday instead of ENM runs we made a trek out to The Boyahda Tree for some fun times, and so that Snokyd could get her Asuran Fists weaponskill.  I pulled out the ol’ NPC fellow of mine Raka and ended up getting her some crazy fast experience, leveling her with almost every call from my tactics and signal pearls.  She also went through several different armor changes (yay!) and I gathered quite a few sword skillups from the ordeal.  I think I ended up moving from 170 up to 178.

Yesterday I did some campaign, and then my 2nd linkshell started talking about heading out for skillups.  Ohh boy…  I crossed my fingers and saw those happy words pop up: [The Boyahda Tree] [linkshell] [party] [yes, please].  Whoo!!!

Last night when we went back it was once more fun-ness, and I managed to pick up more awesome skillups (10 levels of sword, several levels of enfeebling magic, a few evasions, and some healing magic) while getting the Lucky Egg for the Opo-opo crown and scoring miscelanious other goodies that will sell for some minor gil.  Raka didn’t get to come out and play since we were level synced to 62, but that’s okay.  I hope to go back again soon without level sync with some mates and let her swing her new katana (as soon as I can catch the one I want on the auction house for her…).  I gained some pretty good exp from both trips, and got the coffer key.  Now, all I have to do is find that darn coffer so I can get the map.  >.>

All in all, a pretty good weekend in Vana’diel with friends doing randomness.

Flu Blues

Well those aches and good stuffs that were dogging me Thursday morning turned into a case of the flu by Thursday afternoon. Thankfully I’m almost 100% again, and I’m very happy that I’m on spring break this week so I don’t have to run myself ragged from work to class then home to crash.

But, spring break or not, I still have an assignment due Friday that I’ll have to work on. Just a simple 4 page paper, so it’s not that bad. I just gotta get motivated to start. 😀
